What is Acyclonine MUM™?

Acyclonine MUM™ is a 503B-compounded therapeutic option designed for in-office administration by licensed dental professionals. It is formulated to help support patient comfort in select oral conditions, as determined by the dental professional’s judgment.

Licensed dental professionals may consider Acyclonine MUM™ for selected intraoral ulcerative or inflammatory presentations when deemed appropriate and consistent with applicable regulations and standards of care.

This preparation employs a patented delivery process engineered for precise, localized intraoral application. It is intended for intraoral use only and is not for ophthalmic, nasal, or dermatological application.

Acyclonine MUM™ at a Glance

Its targeted design allows dental professionals to address localized discomfort efficiently while supporting ongoing oral comfort and function.

The precision bottle actuator features RAM’s patented delivery process, enabling direct-to-site application for consistent, controlled dosing — providing flexibility for repeat use as directed by the dental professional.

The Technology

This preparation is used by spraying medicated powder via bottle actuator onto the lesion or lesions. This medication is for intraoral use only; it is not intended for ophthalmic, nasal or dermatological use.

Warnings

If irritation develops, this medicine should be discontinued. This medication contains a corticosteroid; monitor your patient for HPA axis suppression if prolonged therapy is needed. Do not use if your patient experiences severe or troublesome adverse reactions, becomes pregnant or intends to become pregnant, or breastfeeds.

Precautions

Do not prescribe this medication if your patient has any hypersensitivities to dyclonine, acyclovir, or triamcinolone. Do not use if the patient has an active fungal or bacterial infection of the mouth or throat. A reduced dosage of dyclonine may be required in elderly patients and children.

Possible Side Effects

Most effects are mild and resolve quickly at the site of application.
Common:
Temporary burning, stinging, irritation, dryness, redness, soreness, or small mouth ulcers.
Less Common:
Rash or hives, blistering or peeling, delayed healing, or thinning of the oral lining with extended use.
Serious (Discontinue Use):
Allergic reaction (swelling of lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing), severe dizziness or fainting, seizures, or other unusual symptoms such as fatigue, headache, or vision changes.
When to Contact Your Doctor:
If symptoms worsen, do not improve within several days, or if any signs of an allergic reaction occur, stop use and contact your healthcare provider immediately.
